Course on useful handicraft is offered by the Project Raíces Cubanas

The Project Raíces Cubanas, integrated by artisans of San José de las Lajas, opened the course of the second period 2013.

Attendants will acquire knowledge on useful handicraft, hand knitting, bottle decoration, artistic painting of cloth, dolls and fabric, said Mercedes Hernández Hernández, director of the Project and Vice President of the Cuban Association of Artistic Artesans (ACAA).

Meetings will take place in the House of Culture, on Saturday and Wednesday, from 10:00 to 12:00 in the morning.

Attention to elder adults in circles and houses of grandparents with activities for all ages are among the options. Meetings in defense of love and the Cuban way of living, with topics of interest for grandparents and giving of handicraft, are some of the examples.

The project aims to bring culture to all community to rescue handicraft traditions in San José de las Lajas, capital of Mayabeque.
